Delirium Nocturnum was launched in 1999 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the brewery’s award winning Delirium Tremens. Nocturnum is a dark ale with secondary fermentation in the bottle.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

(sample best before Oct-16) clear, deep tawny brown with burgundy glints and thin, short lived off-white head. However, swirl and foam is restored.

Aroma:

Vinous, plum, dried apricot and fig fruit with whiffs of alcohol, iodine, dark muscovado sugar and green apple skin.

Taste:

Tart unripe apple, yeast, treacle, liquorice and chocolate on a malty base.

Aftertaste:

Bittersweet, oaky and piney with treacle richness.
