Established in the summer of 2015 by Alex Rice at Denbies Wine Estate, Crowded Hive is produced using orange blossom from the Spanish Pyrenees. The wine is slightly sweet (30g/l of sugar) and very lightly oaked. The water colour which embellishes the label is by Flo Simpson.

Appearance:

(sample bottled 29/Jul/15) Clear, pale straw yellow.

Aroma:

Subdued honeycomb and faint orange blossom.

Taste:

Mildly flavoured with honey and sake-like flavours and light balancing acidity.

Aftertaste:

Delicate honey flavours and wine-like acidity.

Overall:

Very mildly honey flavoured with attractive orange and orange blossom notes.
