Launched on 1st August 2015 as a limited release of 45,000 bottles, Helbings Feiner Aquavit is made by the Heinrich Helbing of Hamburg and matured in PX sherry seasoned casks. Each numbered bottle indicates the cask number it was aged in.

The aquamarine coloured label depicts the Roman goddess Germania, the former trademark of Heinrich Helbing.

Review and Tasting


Sampled on 30/05/2016

Appearance:

(sample from cask No. 35, bottle No. 0274) Clear, pale straw yellow.

Aroma:

Pungent black liquorice, aniseed, dill and caraway.

Taste:

Caraway and aniseed with liquorice, clove, cardamom and white pepper spice.

Aftertaste:

Vanilla, caraway and liquorice with black pepper and star anise.

Overall:

Liquorice tones add roundness to this caraway led aquavit with star anise and peppery bite.
