Released October 2011 for The Whisky Exchange, this 1971 Glen Garioch was distilled in 1971, when the distillery still operated its own maltings, and consequently is peaty – now not typical for Glen Garioch.

Bottled 26th February 2011 from an American oak ex-bourbon cask No. 2038 without chill filtration. Just 194 bottles were filled.

Appearance:

Clear, mid golden.

Aroma:

Pungently peaty nose with hints of butter, walnut shells and white fruit.

Taste:

Slightly sweet, earthy vegetal peaty palate with light salyness and orchard fruits.

Aftertaste:

Lingering vegetal peat with light white pepper spice.
