Released on 12th March 2014, Kilchoman Coull Point is named after a rugged headland on Islay two miles north of the distillery and the packaging features the dramatic Islay landscape. Coull Point is aimed exclusively at travel retail (duty free).
Sampled on 24/03/2014
Clear, pale golden.
Freshly cut earthy peat, charcoal and new leather with cinnamon, pencil shavings, black pepper and faint stewed pear. Water exposes green wet foliage.
Cracked black pepper, sweet bready malt, smoky peat and salty gammon ham. The balance of sweet malt and salty smoky peat is perfect when served neat. Water tames but knocks the balance out of kilter.
Earthly peaty finish with slight saltiness.
