Review and Tasting

Sampled on 24/04/2016

Appearance:

Clear, deep golden amber.

Aroma:

Sherry laced chocolate sponge cake, pastry, barley water, rum and raisin, toffee and butterscotch with faint dried apricot. Water releases golden syrup and spice.

Taste:

Big sherry influence, barley water, raisin, resinous oak and brazil nut with cinnamon, black pepper and nutmeg spice. Takes water well, amplifying sherry and spice.

Aftertaste:

Chocolate, raisin, fudge and tobacco leaf with lingering salty, spicy sherry.

Overall:

Sherried and spicy, this huge malt is balanced and characterful.
