How to make:
SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
2 fl oz | Swedish Punsch liqueur |
3/4 fl oz | Lime juice (freshly squeezed) |
1/6 fl oz | Sugar syrup 'rich' (2 sugar to 1 water, 65.0°Brix) (optional) |
1/3 fl oz | Chilled water (omit if using wet ice) |
4 drop | Difford's Daiquiri Bitters (optional) |
3 drop | Saline solution 4:1 (20g sea salt to 80g water) |

Variant:
Doctor - equal parts light rum and Swedish punch with a barspoon of both lemon and orange juice.
In his 1948 The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks, David A. Embury says, "There are numerous recipes for this drink. Here are several. Shake well with cracked ice.
Doctor No. 1 Equal parts of lime juice and Swedish Punch.
Doctor No. 2 Equal parts of lemon juice, Swedish Punch, and gin. This is also known as the Greta Garbo.
Doctor No. 3 One part lemon juice, 1 part orange juice, 2 parts Swedish Punch.
Doctor No. 4 One part lime juice, 2 parts Jamaican rum, 3 parts Swedish Punch."
History:
A recipe for a Doctor Cocktail made with Swedish punch and lime juice first appears in Hugo R. Ensslin's 1917 Recipes for Mixed Drinks (2nd Edition) (It may have also appeared in his 1916 first edition.)

Juice 1 lime
Shake well in a mixing glass with cracked ice, strain into cocktail glass and serve very cold.
The Doctor cocktail, comprising Swedish punch and lime juice, also features in William James "Billy" Tarling's 1937 Café Royal Bar Book and The UKGB's Approved Cocktails, published the same year and to which he also contributed.
