Built near the bridge that replaced the previous ford river crossing, The Cameronbridge Grain Distillery originally opened in 1824 as the Haig distillery. Two years later it became the first distillery to produce grain whisky using the then revolutionary Column still method invented by Robert Stein.
The largest whisky distillery in Scotland, Cameronbridge grain distillery is capable of producing around 120 million litres of spirit annually and predominantly distills fermented wheat.
Unveiled in London 8th April 2014, the launch of this whisky by Diageo lit up the global news networks. Not due to its being one of the few mainstream bottlings of a grain whisky, but because of its being marketed in partnership with sporting celebrity David Beckham and pop impresario Simon Fuller.
Cameronbrig (distillery one word, whisky brand two) is a Lowlands distillery founded by John Haig in 1824. It was John Haig's cousin, Robert Stein, who invented the first continuous still and accordingly Cameronbridge Distillery was the birthplace of column still grain whisky.
Gordon’s sloe gin was first launched in 1908 but this incarnation, in a clear glass bottle, was introduced a little more recently in February 2004. It is made by steeping sloe berries and sugar in Gordon’s gin.

Until around 1900 only green glass could be produced in volume, so Gordon’s green and white colour palette had remained effectively unchanged. The clear bottle and yellow 'export' label was created in celebration of a large, prestigious Australian export order placed in 1907.
James Pimm is usually credited with creating this quintessentially English summertime thirst-quencher. He began trading as a shellfish-monger in 1823-4 on London's Lombard Street, before moving to nearby number 3 Poultry, also in the heart of the City. There he established Pimm's Oyster Warehouse.
