Woodford Reserve Distillery (Brown-Forman),
7855 McCracken Pike,
Woodford Reserve is aged at the Labrot & Graham Distillery, established in 1812 by Oscar Pepper with Scottish distiller, James Christopher Crow, making it the oldest distilling site still operating in Kentucky.
Pepper chose the site due to the abundant supply of pure iron-free, calcium rich limestone water, a critical ingredient for bourbon production.
Produced from whiskey selected from stocks held at Brown-Forman’s distillery in Jefferson County (mash bill is 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley). The barrels are then moved to the Labrot & Graham distillery to finish maturation.
Released in March 2012, this Woodford Reserve variant is made using (to quote from the back label) a "double barrel process. First matured in custom-crafted barrel and then re-barreled in a heavily toasted, lightly charred barrel for finishing."
Seasoned Oak is so-called due to the weathering of the oak staves used to make the casks that the whiskey is matured in. The staves used where left exposed to the elements for 20 seasons (five years), a period far exceeding Woodford Reserve’s normal three season, nine-month seasoning.
Finished in Sonoma-Cutrer ‘Les Pierres’ barrels, this is the 2nd offering in the Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection of one-off limited-release bottlings (released 2007). Woodford’s Masters Collection releases celebrate the company’s distilling legacy and the skill master distiller Chris Morris.
The first offering in the Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection of limited-release bottlings (released U.S. 2005). This was the first bourbon in over 100 years made with the addition of wheat to the usual bourbon mash bill of corn, rye and malted barley.
The fifth offering in the Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection of limited-release bottlings (released 2010). As the name suggests, Master’s Collection Maple Wood Finish was finished in a toasted (not charred) maple wood barrel.
Released as a pair, New Cask Rye and Aged Cask Rye, this 35/37.5cl twin pack is the 6th offering in the Woodford Reserve Master's Collection of limited-release bottlings. Both 100% rye whiskies were triple distilled in Wood Reserve's copper pot stills - one aged in new oak, the other in refill casks
