Review

This Mexican bar and restaurant opened in February 1982 and its aged, worn décor helps add an air of authenticity. You know you're in a themed restaurant in Covent Garden, but you can almost believe its Mexico, particularly with enough tequila from the vast range stocked here.

The twelve-metre bar contributes hugely to both décor and ambience and over it have passed more than three million Margaritas, as well as some damn fine Daiquiris. There are probably more Mexican beers available here than anywhere else in London. Indeed, it was here that the likes of Sol and Corona were first sold in the UK.

Café Pacifico remains a family-owned, fun-packed institution that doesn't take itself too seriously.
