Review

The name 'Oak Room' conjures up a crusty classic hotel / gentleman's club with eponymously panelled walls but this place is bustling, curvaceous and very contemporary.

So where does the Oak Room name come from? It could be a reference to the oak topped bar counter with runs down both sides of this dual faceted, U-shaped venue. It could also refer to the flooring. The answer for Danish speakers is more obvious, it is so named because it is a little room on Oak Street.

For such a swinging joint this 'little room' serves fabulous cocktails. We particularly liked the brilliantly named Slutty Mary house tequila-based take on a Blood Mary with lime, coriander, Agavero and Chipotle chilli. Also try Oh Ceciliel. Named after the Carl Wrangel, the bar manger's girlfriend this twist on a Negroni has Geranium Gin, Aperol, Amer Picon and Noilly Rouge.
