Review

The Living Room delivers what you'd expect from a swanky chain - fancy decor including live ferns, teardrop lighting and a white baby grand piano. Although it lacks the charm of an independent bar, it's a clean, light space with good cocktails on offer.

Sit at the counter, or by the windows which overlook the Unitarian Church (now Pitcher & Piano) and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. There's a dining room upstairs, so the street level room is just for drinking, or bar food.

The menu pushes "house favourite, irresistibly priced" drinks. These included cocktails such as Vanilla Daiquiris or Passionate Fizzes (fresh passion fruit, passion fruit syrup, a hint of lemon juice and Prosecco).

One of Living Room's most impressive elements is its Bloody Mary list, including plenty of variations to the traditional mix such as a Bolivian Mary, English Rosemary, Basil the Horse, Bloody Frankie and Bloody Garden - if you're after the hair of the dog, this has surely got to be one of the best places to go in Nottingham.
