Located directly upstairs from Minibar, and something of a hidden gem, this one-room bar has a vaulted ceiling and a nice view. It might have seen better days and is a bit rough around the edges, but it has a great atmosphere and boasts extremely friendly service. Clearly something of a bartender's bar on our visit, this clearly is something of a party bar later at night when the music is ramped up a bit.
We found the cocktails well made, and such is their attention to detail that they even chill wine glasses before pouring in cold whites. Bar Up is also famous - or should that be infamous? - for its 'Money Shot' shooter, a creamy concoction made with several liqueurs to a secret recipe. It comes with a dollar sign in dusting across the top, hence the name, and there's a board up on the wall charting those who have managed to drink 100 of them.
