This reassuringly starchy bar nestles within a luxury hotel honed from a magnificent 15th century palace. Its' canal-side terrace has great views across the Grand Canal and is one of our favourite late night spots for a drink.

Inside, etched mirrored walls, red marble floors, reproduction Louis XIVth chairs and glass wall-lights make this bar a fine example of the Grand Venetian style. Although the hotel attracts a celebrity clientele the bar is usually frequented by a mixed bag of tourists.

White tie bartenders do a good job of producing cocktails from the vast menu of mainly classics. It's not an inspiring cocktail offering but its old-school and safe with something for every palate. The wine list also lacks real interest but has some decent bins.
