Review

Even if you visit this place in the dead of night it appears strangely bright and airy. Whether that is due to the light decor, the doors open onto the street, the efficient young staff or simply to the friendly buzz is hard to pinpoint.

Design details add interest to what would otherwise be a fairly plain room, particularly the manga-style printed wallpaper mural that covers an entire wall. Certain design quips, even the bleeding obvious, appear to be missed by some - a bloke actually had to ask where the gents was while standing next to the pink and blue button-upholstered toilet doors.

Treacle is a faultlessly well-run operation, which is a joy to visit with well made cocktails and some great bottled beers such as Bohemia and Modelo alongside mainstream Euro lagers on tap.
