Bottled in 2010 and blended by Ichiro Akuto, this is a blend of malts from the former Hanyu Distillery and Ichiro's new Chichibu Distillery - hence the 'Double Distilleries' name. All the malts used were either entirely aged or finished in Japanese wood casks.

Appearance:

Clear, bright light golden amber.

Aroma:

(hydrated to approx. 40%) Linseed oily pencil shavings with vanillin, carbolic soap, floral honeysuckle and nashi pear aromas.

Taste:

Voluptuous malty palate awash with dry spicy old wardrobe varnished oak. Indian spice and bone dry slightly smoky oak with sweet liquorice.

Aftertaste:

Slightly smoky, delicately woody (cedar), elegantly spiced with lingering liquorice.
