Brewed in Cuba since 1990 where this beer is named Bucanero Fuerte, hence the image of the 'Buccaneer' (pirate) on this beer's label. Bucanero Fuerte is brewed with malted barley and hops with the addition of Cuban sugar.

Cervecería Bucanero Brewery is situated in Holguín, a typical Cuban city located on the East side of the island. The brewery was built at the end of the 1980's using German technology. The current production capacity is more than 1.5 million hectoliters per year.

Appearance:

Clear, burnished copper golden with thin snowy white head.

Aroma:

Bready malty nose with aromas of tinned sweetcorn.

Taste:

Foamy palate is almost creamy, flavoursome and at the same time, strangely thin. Flavours of sweet doughy white bread with subtle hops and soapy bitterness.

Aftertaste:

Short, very lightly bitter, orangey.
