According to the bottle, "Perigan's Cannabis Gin is a blend of the purest gin with a subtle hint of cannabis" and based on "100% pure grain spirit". We understand that hemp is not a botanical ingredient and that the cannabis flavouring, along with colouring, are added after distillation.

This is one of three Cannabis-flavoured drinks made by the Spanish firm of Beveland to pulled from sale in the UK in 2007 after the drinks industry's own watch dog, the Portman Group, found the product's packaging, which includes an illustration of what looks like a cannabis leaf, to be in breach of alcohol marketing rules.

Appearance:

Clear, aquamarine.

Aroma:

Aggressive, pine, juniper and spearmint chewing gum-like, very spiritous nose.

Taste:

Herbal, aggressive sweet mint, bitter palate with unpleasant pine and cinnamon spice.

Aftertaste:

Somewhat nasty, long lingering herbal, cinnamon finish.
