Review and Tasting

Sampled on 06/11/2011

Appearance:

Thick black and oil-like in appearance with brown edges.

Aroma:

Liquorice and burnt liquorice nose with subtle smoky and burning sugar aromas and a touch of meatiness, lemon zest and aniseed.

Taste:

Powerfully liquorice flavoured palate which obviously has a lot of sugar yet is balanced by bitter tannins, woodiness and bitter burnt coffee flavours.

Aftertaste:

Long liquorice finish which starts lightly smoked and fades to be pure liquorice.
