Highland Park’s third Orcadian Vintage Series bottling, Highland Park Orcadian 1970 Vintage was created from seven casks laid down in 1970. All were refill casks comprising both butts and hogsheads and jointly yielded a total of just 1,800 bottles at natural cask strength of 48% abv.
Orcadian 1970 is bottled in a jet back glass bottled adorned with a specially crafted silver embossed Pictish knot which circles the necker and banding. In turn this is presented in a naturally coloured oak wooden box.
This 1970 Vintage Highland Park is the third bottling from the distillery’s Orcadian Vintage Series and follows the success of the 1968 and 1964 Vintages. When the 1970 Vintage was released in August 2010, Highland Park said that “up to ten exclusive limited editions will be released over the next four years.”

Clear, golden appearance.
Peaty, roasted pineapple nose with a light lemon zest twist.
Silky, unctuous palate – honey, vanilla and pineapple fruit interact with spicy (coriander) layers of smoky peat and cedar wood.
Incredibly long satisfying silky finish. One of the best drams I have ever had the pleasure to savour.
