Launched on St David’s Day (1st March) 2004, Penderyn’s first whisky, ‘Aur Cymru’, meaning ‘Welsh Gold’ is finished in Madeira casks and is bottled without chill-filtration. Aur Cymru remains Penderyn’s flagship expression.

Sampled before 1st May 2011

Aroma:

Linseed oiled cricket bats, toffee and vanilla with buttery leather.

Taste:

Extremely light palate with notes of apple and lemon zest. The palate dries to become slightly bitter, and burnt.
