Launched in the US in 2006, Rangpur is based in the traditional Tanqueray botanical recipe with the addition of ginger, bay leaves and most notably rangpur limes from India which surprisingly have orange coloured skins. Whatever would Charles Tanqueray say?
On 12th February 2018, Diageo "unveiled a stunning new look for Tanqueray Rangpur."

Crystal clear.
Wonderfully fresh with lime juice, lime zest and juniper.
Slightly sweet (to the extent that added sugar is suspected). Lime dominates to the detriment of the other botanicals, although juniper wins the battle to shine through with peppery ginger heat adding balance.
Pleasantly fresh zesty lime finish. It is as though Diageo have set out to make a premixed Tanqueray Gimlet. A long way from what I would expect of the Tanqueray brand. Gimlet anyone?
