Marketed as being a "Wild berry flavoured premium vodka spirit". At a mere 20% alc./vol. and obviously sweetened Eristoff Black is far closer to our definition of a liqueur (although probably short of the 100 grams/litre of sugar to qualify as a liqueur).

Appearance:

Scarily it is the "spirit" itself rather than the bottle that is black. It's the kind of liquid you might avoid skin contact with for fear of staining.

Aroma:

Smells innocuous enough with the kind of perfumed fruit found in children's sweets.

Taste:

Believably natural blackcurrant flavour. Not at all cloying with a good balance of sweetness.

Aftertaste:

Blackcurrant, blackberry and vanilla with very mild spice.
