Launched in 2011, Diplomatico Rum Liqueur is based on a 50/50 blend of column still and pot still rums. At a mere 120 grams per litre, the low sugar content of this liqueur is barely above the 100 g/l minimum levels required in the EU for products to be termed liqueurs.

Best served neat and chilled in small wine glasses.

Appearance:

Clear, polished copper-coloured.

Aroma:

Aromas of muscovado sugar, with spiced honey and a hint of oak.

Taste:

Just enough sweetness to balance the strength of the rum and accentuate the pot still flavours. Fruity notes emerge with vanilla and slightly spiced oak, all smoothed with a thick layer of rich honey.

Aftertaste:

The heat and power of the pot still rums is more obvious in the lasting finish.
