This now legendary beer was first released in 1998 and like a good wine, every release or vintage is slightly different from the last. While ready to drink when released its flavours develop with time and devotees consider this bottle conditioned and unpasteurized ale at its peak after 5 years.

Accordingly, Coopers Extra Strong Vintage Ale is noted for displaying a 'best after' rather than 'best before date'.
