Named after Louis-Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle, the original creator of Grand Marnier liqueur, with its blue and silver label, this special blend of Grand Marnier is clearly distinguishable from the regular Cordon Rouge.

Older Cognacs are used in this blend than in Cordon Rouge, typically 12- to 15-year-old with eaux-de-vie drawn from across the top five Cognac regions. Cuvée Louis-Alexandre was launched in 2000 and has always contained 200 grams of sugar per litre (a little less than Cordon Rouge).
