A Belgian dark/double style ale from Scottish independent family brewers who started out as importers of Belgian bottled beers through their specialist beer shop 'Beers Unique'. Production started in November 2009 with the launch of Madcap's first cask ale, Annandale Black.

Appearance:

Cloudy, dark brown with thick beige head.

Aroma:

Fruity malty nose with a aroma reminiscent of old fashioned cloth sticking plasters.

Taste:

Slightly smoky, yeasty malty palate with liquorice and stale cigarette ash.

Aftertaste:

Yeast extract on burnt toast finish with lingering liquorice and cigarette ash.
