As Meantime say, this is "stout from the home of stout". It is made with Brown and Black malts and Golding hops, crucially without the roast barley used in Irish stouts.
Sampled on 26/02/2012
Opaque, ebony coloured with huge head with quickly subsides to leave thin creamy layer of foam and moderate lacing.
Tar, charcoal, molasses, mocha coffee, liquorice, vanilla and smouldering oak with dungy note.
Robust, full-bodied, heavily roasted palate with bitter espresso coffee.
Sweet and sour finish with lingering dungy espresso.
