As the name might suggest, this liqueur is made by steeping raspberries from Perthshire in Edinburgh Gin, then sweetening with sugar cane syrup. Edinburgh Gin itself is made using Scottish juniper and other Scottish botanicals such heather, pine and milk thistle.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 26/02/2012

Appearance:

Clear, light burgundy red.

Aroma:

Aromatic fresh punnet of raspberries with strong botanical aromas of pine, lavender, camphor and sage.

Taste:

Sweet, slightly syrupy palate with animated raspberry juice backed and made more complex by subtle botanical notes. Perhaps a touch too much on the sweet side for dry palates.

Aftertaste:

Thyme influenced raspberry finish with lingering pine and lavender.
