The upper echelon of Glengoyne’s core range, this unpeated 21-year-old Highland malt is aged in 100% first-fill European oak ex-sherry casks – mainly first fill oloroso with some Pedro Ximénez. Each bottling comprises 10 to 20 casks. First released April 2007

Clear, deep copper with bronze highlights.
Red apples – apple strudel, fresh barley and bual madeira with raisin fruit, toasted almond, linseed putty and light cinnamon spice.
Honeyed and sherried woody oaked palate with stewed pear, red apple fruit, faint sappy pine and cinnamon spice.
Rich sherry oaky finish with vegetal notes and lingering pine sap, dry oak and spice. Heavy pine and oak bitter tannins may polarise.
