Sampled on 14/05/2012
Clear, mid golden with polished gold highlights.
Old oak wardrobe, plump dried fruit, dried apricots, almonds, candle wax, vanilla and light boatyard varnish, rolling tobacco and suntan oil.
Huge, characterful, spicy old oaked palate with baked/grilled slightly caramelised apple, coal dust, grilled almond and oily wood varnish.
Burnt cinnamon spiced apple pie crust with lingering spicy oak tannins. Remarkably sprightly for a 58-year-old.
