Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut consists: 20% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 40% Pinot Meunier with 12 to 14% being reserve wines. The dosage is typically around 11 grams per litre and Grand Brut benefits from 2 years cellar maturation. The oldest brut champagne, first introduced in 1856.
Sampled on 03/11/2016
Clear, light golden with slight green tinge and lively persistent bubbles.
Brioche, hay bales, crisp green apples and very faint rhubarb and pine sap.
Clean and well-balanced with delicate creamy green apple fruit, zesty bite, good biscuit notes and a touch of yeast.
Cleansing minerally and citrus finish.
A great aperitif champagne with a relatively soft mousse and mouthfeel.
