The Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2004 blend consists 50% chardonnay (from Cramant, Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, 45% pinot noir (Mailly, Aÿ, Ambonnay, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ) and 5% pinot meunier (Dizy and Venteuil). The wine has been cellar aged for 6 years and dosed at 9g per litre.

Belle Epoque is presented in a beautiful Art Nouveau style bottle designed in 1902 by Emile Gallé, with a swirling motif of Japanese anemones inspired by the wine’s floral style.

Appearance:

Clear mid golden and lively persistent bubbles.

Aroma:

Initial yeasty burst of ripe brie cheese clears to reveal freshly toasted bread, tropical pineapple and peachy fruit with floral honeysuckle.

Taste:

Gentle yet voluptuous mouth feel. Complex mid/bone dry with brazil nut, pineapple and lemon zest citrusy acidic bite. Flavours harmoniously married.

Aftertaste:

Dry mildly nutty biscuit with apple skin and lemon zest.
