Estrella means ‘star’, hence the gold star insignia, and Damm is the name of the brewery which started brewing what has long been Spain’s best-selling beer in 1876. Estrella Damm is brewed with barley malt, rice, maze and hops – it’s another rice influenced light lager. (In Spain 5.2% alc./vol.)

The brewery only changed its name to Damm in 1910 as a tribute to its founder, Alsatian brewmaster August Kuentzmann Damm.
