Produced in Yorkshires oldest brewery this India Ale is made with water from the original 1758 which is 85 feet deep well. After the malted barley and hops are combined it is left to ferment in traditional Yorkshire stone square fermenters.
Sampled on 23/08/2012
(best before May-13) Clear, coppery amber with long lasting thick white head and heavy lacing.
Bready malt with caramel, boiled sweet corn and grassy hops.
Medium bodied, lightly bitter malty caramel with tannic tea and citrusy hops.
Lingering tannic bitterness with faint zesty lime. Those in search of a hoppy American style IPA will be disappointed – this one shows English restraint.
