Released in August 2012 and bottled from a single cask yielding 204 cask strength bottles, unusually this single Highland malt is part of, and is best enjoyed whilst experiencing, an interactive sound installation called #UNRAVEL, hence it's rather unconventional name and label.
Factmag.com succinctly explain #UNRAVEL, as "a collection of devices making up a gallery-based, reactive sound installation, through which the audience attempts to "unravel the truth" about the narrator's life by playing records from his collection. The narrator is the redoubtable Aidan Moffat, avowed whiskey fan, raconteur, musician and former vocalist with Arab Strap. The project required Aidan to write 10 short stories with multiple variations of each, to then be soundtracked by a total of 160 new musical compositions by the FOUND collective." Who said the malt whisky was staid?
