Elgood’s signature brew, Cambridge Bitter is made using Maris Otter pale ale malt with English Fuggles and Challenger hops. Cambridge Bitter is brewed all year round.
Sampled on 29/10/2012
(best before 28-Feb-13) Clear, deep amber with a thin off-white head leaving light lacing.
Caramel, hay and faint cigarette ash-like hops.
Heavily roasted, as the colour might suggest, but only/light to medium bodied. Caramel, light oakyness and generally a tad bland – but hardly going to be a big hitter at 3.8%.
Very short caramel finish with light pine hop bitterness.
