Named after the Gaelic for ‘dawn’ (so a breakfast malt perhaps), Caol Ila Moch was released in 2012 and is lighter in style than Caol Ila 12 Year Old. Moch does not carry an age statement but we understand is 7 to 8 years old from second and third-fill American oak hogsheads.

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden with faint green tinge.

Aroma:

Sherbet, lemon citrus zest and pastry with confectioner’s custard, icing sugar and linseed oil.

Taste:

Light body with peaty smoke and Caol Ila’s signature salt and pepper tang. Gently spiced with orange and lemon zesty citrus.

Aftertaste:

Zesty lemon with salt and pepper. This Caol Ila may lack an age statement but it’s great value for money.
