Tandhu Distillery reopened in 2012 after a couple of years of closure thanks to investment by Ian MacLeod Distillers. In May 2013 this was followed by the release of Tamdhu 10 Year Old, resplendent in a shapely, gorgeously endowed bottle.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

Clear, golden amber.

Aroma:

Vanilla and sugared almonds with cracked black pepper, fudge, coal dust and nutmeg.

Taste:

Sweet barley, milk chocolate, stewed tea tannins, creamy fruit, toffee and cream of soda vanilla with nutmeg and cinnamon spice. Sherry garnish.

Aftertaste:

Butterscotch and salty vanilla fudge with nutmeg, cinnamon and wisps of peaty smoke.
