Six O'Clock Gin

Difford's Guide

alc./vol: 43%

Proof: 86°

Vintage: Non-vintage

Aged: Unaged

Named after the time when drinking becomes socially acceptable (guess the folk at B&G don't partake in three Martini lunches) and made with juniper and six other botanicals including orange peel and elderflower. Designed to complement the makers own Six O'Clock Tonic.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 15/07/2012

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Clean nose bursts with pine and camphor juniper and mandarin orange zest. Faint floral parma violet and liquorice.

Taste:

Huge whack of refreshing, slightly bitter, pine-ey juniper and orange oils - so much so that it is hard to identify the elderflower and other botanicals.

Aftertaste:

Stewed tea tannins and juniper with faint almond-like nuttiness.
