Launched in June 2013, Pinkster is distilled at London's Thames Distillers in a stainless steel pot still with five botanicals. Fresh raspberries are steeped in the gin after distillation giving the gin a pink hue.

The brand was founded by North Hertfordshire, England based entrepreneur Stephen Marsh backed by private equity finance.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 29/07/2013

Appearance:

Clear but with large and small particles in suspension. Pale salmon pink.

Aroma:

Red berries (ripe raspberries and redcurrants) and strawberry shortcake with almost imperceptible juniper and subdued spice.

Taste:

Faintly sweet, black pepper spiced red berries – more reminiscent of a raspberry spiced vodka than a gin.

Aftertaste:

Cracked black pepper dominates the raspberry cream soda finish. For a product labelled 'gin' this is disappointing but is a well-made spirit.
