Distilled in 1991 at Linkwood and aged 22 years. This single cask was bottled in 2013 yielding 320 bottles (released in July 2013). ‘Apple Pastry’ is part of a range of single cask malts from Wemyss (prounced 'weems') with names inspired by each whisky's flavour.
Sampled on 14/07/2013
Clear, golden amber.
Apple pie filling, green apple skin and shortcrust pastry. Water amplifies the green apple skin aromas.
Sweet, cooked apple and hot cinnamon spice. Water makes even sweeter and greener. The pastry notes are nowhere to be found.
Spicy fresh green apple skin. It’s all about the apple.
