One of a trio of malts launched in May 2013 exclusive to global travel retail, collectively known as the ‘Manse Brae’ Duty Free Range’ after the street on which Rothes House stands. The house was formerly the Minister’s home and was a place where the Elders of the Kirk would meet.

Sampled on 05/08/2013

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden amber.

Aroma:

Ginger, baked apple, vanilla and butterscotch with lemon zest and ripe mango.

Taste:

Spicy, charcoal and leather with notes of shoe polish, ginger, vanilla and faint slightly burnt apple pie.

Aftertaste:

Creamy vanilla tames the oak oaked spicy finish.
