Part of Diageo’s 2013 Special Releases, this is the first official Oban to be released at such an advanced age since the 20 year old released in 2004. Aged in rejuvenated oak and second fill sherry seasoned casks. Bottled at natural cask strength.

Sampled on 29/10/2013

Appearance:

Clear, light golden amber.

Aroma:

Toffee apple, green apple skin, seaweed and varnished oak with faint peat, new leather and teak wood.

Taste:

Slightly sweet with good fruity notes checked by salty oak. Water amplifies boiled fruit notes.

Aftertaste:

Milk chocolate, clove and candied ginger spice.
