Grappa Ben Ryé is batch distilled using alembic stills from the fermented pomace of Muscat of Alexandria (called Zibbibo locally) on the island of Pantelleria, a small, volcanic island south west of Sicily. Grappa Ben Ryé is aged in small oak barrels.
The name Ben Ryé derives from the Arabic ‘Son of the Wind’, after the wind which sweeps round the island.
