Domecq 1820 is named after the year Don Pedro Domecq set about his two year quest to launch The House of Domecq. It is aged for two years in American oak casks using a solera system and packaged in classy screen-printed bottles, giving the branding an acidic etched appearance. Launched October 2013
Sampled on 24/03/2014
Clear, coppery amber.
Vanilla, saddle leather, raisons, toasted almonds and hazelnuts with lightly spiced toasty oak.
Full-flavoured yet silky on the palate with toasty oak, orange zest, dry nuts, nutmeg and cinnamon spice balanced by toffee/caramel, plump raisony fruit and sweet vanilla.
Toasty, faintly smoky with tobacco, leather, burnt raisons and lingering cinnamon and nutmeg spice.
