Launched in 1846, ‘Red’ is sweeter and more alcoholic than the original ‘Classic’ (15% alc./vol.) Amaro D’udine created by Antonio Colutta in 1912. It is designed to be served over ice as an aperitif or digestive, in cocktails or with orange juice.

Appearance:

Clear, tawny brown with deep coppery glints.

Aroma:

There’s a whiff reminiscent of swimming pool changing rooms with crushed mint leaves, sultanas, currants, orange juice and cloves.

Taste:

Strong gentian and liquorice sticks with accompanying bitterness. Faint honeyed supporting sweetness with crushed mint leaf.

Aftertaste:

Long, bitter liquorice and gentian finish.
