Review and Tasting

Sampled on 20/10/2014

Appearance:

(sample bottled in 2013) Clear and bright (clouds with water), light-mid golden amber.

Aroma:

Light peat and rich cereal with delicate fragrant oak and faint nuttiness. Water releases more creamy cereal notes.

Taste:

Honeyed sweetness softens hickory and peaty smoke, and the peppery spice of the cask strength with roasted cocoa. A splash of water calms and brings this big malt into kilter, revealing orange marmalade notes.

Aftertaste:

Long, lightly peaty with lingering honeyed notes.
