A limited release launched in October 2014, Ceòbanach (pronounced ‘kyaw-bin-och’), which means ‘smoky mist’ in Scots Gaelic, is an apt name for a whisky with such a salty smoke influence. Aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon casks this peaty Islay malt was bottled without chill-filtration.

Appearance:
Clear, pale golden.
Aroma:
Pungent and assertive. Pencil shavings, sea air and vegetal smoky peat. Apple and pear fruit with toasted coconut emerges with water.
Taste:
Intensely flavoured with very slight sweetness balancing salt, smoky peat and dry oak. Attractive buttery oily notes with vanilla and chamois leather.
Aftertaste:
Long finish with lingering smoke and buttery vanilla oak.
