This malt has been matured for three years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels from Buffalo Trace and is lightly peated with 10 to 20ppm of phenols, bottled at 50% alcohol strength. Just 11,300 bottles have been released worldwide.

A special edition is available only at the distillery - 1,060 bottles were produced at a cask strength of 61.3% alc./vol. and is presented in a hand-crafted American white oak presentation box at £149.00.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

Clear, pale straw gold.

Aroma:

Warming cottage log fire smoke, with a waft of dry peat. The smoke, while appealing, dominates other aromas even when hydrated to approx. 40% abv, though yields a slight sweet perfumed aroma.

Taste:

Sweet, and immediately salty with more dry peaty smoke and barbecue charcoal.

Aftertaste:

Long-lasting bone dry tannic smoky finish. Extremely smoky yet approachable.
